Agona West Assembly presents furniture to schools

The Agona West Municipal Assembly on Thursday presented 250 tables and chairs to Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS) and Nyakrom Secondary Technical School.

Presenting the items Mr Samuel Oppong, the Agona West Municipal Chief Executive, said the government was committed to ensure quality education to all children of school going age.

He said the government was determined to provide adequate infrastructure for basic and senior high schools to create enabling environment to make education accessible and affordable.

The tables and chairs were provided by GETFund through the Ministry of Education.

Mr Oppong said three private senior high schools in the Municipality would also benefit from the next consignment and appealed to the schools to work hard to ensure that the students get better results.

Mr Joseph Kwame Atta, who represented Agona West Municipal Director of Education, thanked the Assembly for the presentation.

Mrs Kate Anann-Wilberforce, the Headmistress of Nyakrom Secondary Technical School, thanked the Assembly and said the items would enhance teaching and learning.
