Asamang community to get ultra-modern mosque

The District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North in the Ashanti Region, Rebecca Yeboah has undertaken a sod-cutting ceremony to begin the construction of an ultra-modern mosque for the good people of Asamang in the Atwima Nwabiagya District.

This project is being financed by Arab World via the Iqra Foundation based in Adoato a suburb of Kumasi.

According to the DCE, every good leader is expected to provide things that would help bring development and improve the well-being of the people and that, the district Assembly is determined to provide the needed technical support and building permit for the project.

Mr Abdulai Ibrahim, the contractor for the project said, the project would add up to the 480 mosque across the country when completed.

On the part of the Chief Imam of Asamang, Abdul Kareem said the building of the new mosque for Muslim in the community has come at the right time, since the old structure has developed several cracks and has become a death trap for them.

He thanked the DCE for technical support and permit to build a new mosque to spread the word of Allah.

The DCE was accompanied by the acting coordinating Director (DCD) Mr. Kaleem Abdallah Adam, District Information Officer (DIO), Thomas Awuah Asem and Assembly member of the area, Hon Christopher Asante and a host of other dignitaries.
