The polyclinic which started as a community health center has outgrown the initial purpose for which it was established due to the increase in the number of people who patronize the facility.
The health facility needed other supporting essential facilities to make it a one-stop center for patients within Ngleshie Amanfro and its surrounding environs to access and receive quality health car.
Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, the MCE stated that, the Assembly, together with the Municipal Health Directorate came up with suitable road map to help upgrade the facility into a Municipal Hospital.
He added that, the project which is expected to be completed in 4 months will help reduce female maternal mortality in the Municipality.
He advised the contractor to ensure that the project is completed on time to pave way for phase two to commence. He was hopeful that the project will go a long way to reduce female maternal mortality and improve health delivery.
Nii Kwashie Gbolor V, the chief of Ngleshie Amanfro, on his part, commended the MCE for the project and requested for more of such projects.
The Medical superintendent of the Hospital also thanked the Assembly for heeding to their calls and promised to cooperate with the contractor to see to the completion of the project within the stipulated time.
