Mr Ebenezer T. Amanor, Chairman of the Great Ningo Youth Association (GNYA), has urged citizens in Ningo to let discipline prevail amongst them.

He said the situation where some elders, young men and women of Ningo were seen openly insulting people without any provocation was not helping in the development efforts of opinion leaders.

Mr Amanor gave the advice when addressing the people at their first ever home-coming summit on the theme; “Ningo Today and The Future” organized by the GNYA at Ningo.

He said; “this sickness of indiscipline needs to be cured. Who will do that? It is everyone’s responsibility.”

Mr Amanor said it was about time the entire citizens of Great Ningo came together and fight for a common purpose.

The Chairman said Ningo had been neglected and lacked many amenities and that it was only through unity and respect for one another that could pave the way for them to realize their good dreams for the town.

“Ningo must get a Technical/Vocational school, a car park, special market days, community or social centre and the revival of the Djange Domi festival to attract more visitors to our land,” he said.

Mr Amanor said children of school going age were seen loitering about in the night instead of being behind their books and “Okada” riders have no respect on the town’s roads.

“All these things and many more cannot be done or checked by one person, hence the need to involve everybody to contribute for the good of Great Ningo,” he said.

“We, the youth association have resolved to be behind the chiefs who want to achieve something good for Great Ningo and that we shall keep on pressing for the demand of our own District Assembly till thy kingdom come and hopefully we shall succeed one day,” he said.
