Chief Executive of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, Pascal Lamptey has welcomed the president’s directive to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to ensure the integration of early childhood development including kindergarten education into existing basic education system.

The indicated that the call was in the right direction if as a country we are committed to improving standard of education, then special attention should be given to children at the time they develop their cognitive.

Mr. Lamptey said the directive would only serve as a catalyst to deliver on his plans for the municipality as education is one of them. As such, more kindergartens would have to be built and the requisite logistics provided to facilitate teaching and learning.

In a related development, the MCE said the assembly would institute measures to organise extra classes to JHS students to prepare them adequately towards their final exams. He said he is determined to see the municipality rub shoulders with best performing MMDAs in the country.

And for those who may not be able to make to the senior high level, a special programme to provide them with vocational skills with an NVTI certificate would be instituted as well, he stated.
