A building constructed by the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkramah believed to be a project intended for a crematorium has been abandoned and left at the mercy of the weather near the Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly  in the Greater Accra Region.

The La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly is one of the newly created municipalities in 2012.

The area happens to be a cemetery and as a President who had a strategic blue print for the development of the nation and to conserve more lands decided to erect the project to help in cremating mortal remains of deceased persons instead of burying them which would take many years to decay.

Although the project was not completed before President Nkrumah was overthrown in 1966, no one continued it till date.

Because the building was built with quality concrete materials it is still strong and looks like it was constructed not too long ago.

Information gathered by Ghanadistricts.com when they toured the municipality has it that the La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly is planning to transform the building into an office project to host some of its offices.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Charles Ashalley Djane who comfirmed to Ghanadistricts.com about the intentions of the Assembly said that they have also laid down some measures to improve on the level of development within the municipality which would enable them to rock shoulders with some already existing MMDAs.
