The Jasikan District Assembly has inaugurated an ultra modern lorry pack at the cost of about GHC 400,000.

The District Chief Executive, Killian Abrampah in an address called on the drivers to respect road safety regulations to keep the roads safe.

According to him, “the transport business would not be lucrative if our roads were not safe" and therefore admonished drivers to be cautious on the road in order to prevent accidents.

He noted that “it is imperative for us to do whatever it takes in our power to avoid over speeding, wrong overtaking and try as much as possible to observe road signs and regularly maintain our vehicles.”

Mr. Abrampah also lamented the deplorable nature of the roads linking eastern Buem to Jasikan, the district capital adding that it does not promote businesses for the drivers.

Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, on his part, assured the people of government’s commitment to renovate all deplorable roads in the district.

“Though we cannot solve all the problems within the shortest possible time, I can assure you that some action will be seen on the ground” he stated.
