Through a District Development Fund(DDF) support the Jasikan District Assembly in consultation with the Ghana Health Service(GHS) is on the verge of completing a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) zone project at Lekanti.

Nana Barima Kumessy Bonsy II, District Chief Executive for the area, in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com revealed that the facility has already been roofed and contractors are therefore putting some finishing touches to the project on-board.

He said all things being equal the project will be accomplished by the end of this year, noting that the facility upon completion will assist accelerate efforts in healthcare delivery in the area.

The CHPS programme adopted in 1999 is a national health policy initiative that seeks to reduce barriers to geographical access to healthcare and also helps scale up service delivery innovation in the health system.
