Educational standards in the Nii Okaiman East Electoral area located in the Ga Central Municipality continue to decline; a situation which has become a source of worry for most parents and stakeholders in the area.

The Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Sheriff Abdul Fathah who made this information known in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said the issue had arisen because the area lacks adequate school structures.

For this reason, Mr. Sheriff said in order to serve educational needs of the people school authorities were compelled to operate a shift system of education and also admit more pupils more than the schools capacity.

“Most of the schools are overcrowded,” he added.

In a related development, a six-unit classroom block is expected to be constructed for the Abeka Motorway Basic School funded from the District Development Fund (DDF).

According to Mr. Sheriff, reevaluation was currently underway at the school for a best site to host the project.
