Confirmation of the president’s nominee for District Chief Executive for Kwahu East in the Eastern region has been abondoned following irregularities that rock the election on July 18, 2013.

The election was hit with over-voting when 37 ballots were discovered instead of 33.

It was the second attemp for the assembly to confirm Mr. Samuel Asamoah the incumbent district Chief Executive who was reappointed by the President after the nominee failed to secure the mandatory two-thirds majority on the first attempt held on July 5.

Since no one could explain how the extra four got into the box, the election had to be abandoned indefinately.
