Mr Ebenezer Akuoko- Frimpong, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central, has been confirmed by an overwhelming majority at the Assembly elections held at Nsuta on Thursday.

The election supervised by Mr Samuel Tettey, the Ashanti Regional Electoral Officer, saw Mr Akuoko-Frimpong polling 29 out of the total 36 valid votes cast. This represents 80.5 per cent.

Mr Akuoko-Frimpong, who is the President of the National Association of Local Government NALAG), thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work harder.

Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), who witnessed the event, lauded the Assembly for placing the interest of the District first and urged them to work as a team for the development of the District.

Mr Afoakwa Sekyere, the Presiding Member, asked the DCE to be action –oriented to move the District forward.
