The safety of over five thousand residents at Kwamang in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region is managed by only four police personnel at the police station.

This was disclosed to Ghanadistricts.com by the assemblyman for Kwamang North Emmanuel K. Amoako who described the situation as scary said the five personnel cannot do much in times of trouble. He said they cannot afford to toil with the safety of the people and appealed to stakeholders especially the assembly to institute the necessary arrangement to have additional personnel posted to the station.

Explaining the ordeal residents go through in the hands of criminals in the community, he said the people are sometimes threatened and their valuables robbed from them and left helpless because very little can be done when they report to the police.

According to Mr. Amoako, he has to organize community police with some of the men to drive off criminals at night. He added that at night there could only be one police man on duty which he said was not the best.

He further stated that he has to sometimes accompany these policemen to maintain security in the area during the night.
