Residents living in the Kwaman North Area in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region are calling on the government and benevolent organizations to come to their aid to construct a storm drain for them.

According to them an eroded gutter located in the middle of the town has become a threat to their lives and property especially during the rainy season describing the situation as an eyesore.

The Assemblyman Emmanuel K. Amoako who confirmed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com indicated that the deplorable state of the gutter has ended up destroying a stream in the area known as Abutia which served as their only source of water.

“Our lands have no stones and it was easy for erosion to take place anywhere,” he intimated.

He said various calls he had placed to the Sekyere Central District assembly proved futile hence the need for NGOs and well meaning Ghanaians to support them.

On school projects, Mr. Amoako said the area had no problem in such sector adding that the Kwaman Senior Technical School which previously was managed by the town had been taken over by the government.

He observed that since the school was taken over by government there have been tremendous improvements in infrastructural projects in the school.
