DANGME W:OrphanAid to provide JHS block for Ayenya community

OrphanAid, a Non Government Organisation (NGO) in the country has agreed to put up a junior high school block for Ayenya, a deprived community in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region.

OrphanAid, a Non Government Organisation (NGO) in the country has agreed to put up a junior high school block for Ayenya, a deprived community in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region.

The school block, which is aimed at solving the educational needs of pupil in the community as well as its surrounding environs is an initiative of OrphanAid Africa and funded by the Spanish Hotel Chain, Barcelo.

Mr. Marcel Desailly, a lifetime ambassador of OrphanAid Africa, speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of the project was hopeful the facility would help raise and educate responsible leaders in the area.

The founder of the OrphanAID Africa, Miss Lisa Love Smith, stated that the school would employ a holistic approach in educating the children.

The Chief of Ayenya, Togbe Davor, commended the effort of the NGO towards improving the lives of people in the community, especially that of the children.

OrphanAid Africa since 2006 had provided the community with solar power, places of convenience, a clinic, large sports coaching programme, community centre, vocational training school for seamstresses and a primary school.
