The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has financed a small town water system project for residents of Kofiase, a suburb of the Asante-Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region.

It has been observed that the area continues to face perennial water problems; and for this reason the project has been tagged as one that promises to improve the situation to an appreciable level.

The Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Hon. Enoch Teye-Mensah who had his speech read on his behalf during the inauguration ceremony reiterated government’s efforts to make safe water accessible to all in the country.

He said the government is on the verge of improving access to potable water to about 80 percent to bring comfort to all Ghanaians.

For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for Asante-Mampong, Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang indicated the assembly’s resolve to execute more of such development projects before the end of this year and also called on the people to take good care of the water facility.
