The District Chief Executive for Adansi South, Benjamin Anhwere has made a passionate appeal to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for the allocation of more schools to be constructed in the district.

He said the district is in dire need of classroom blocks and should be given some priority in the number of allocations under the “schools under tree” project.

According to him, aside earlier allocations by the trust fund of five schools coupled with the districts own intervention, the district is still battling with some 28 schools under trees to remove.

The situation as indicated was alarming and need a creative approach involving government, corporate institutions, individuals and the district assembly to ensure drastic reduction in the number.

“We must also not loss sight of other logistical constraints facing the educational sector which is manifested in the kind of results produced at the various level of education”, he stated.

On the role of parents, the DCE urged them not to renege on their responsibilities in fending for the needs of their children and also act boldly in preventing their children from staying outside at night instead of spending time reading their books.

In another development, the DCE expressed gratitude that works had started on two major cocoa  roads under the Ghana Cocoa board sponsorship in the districts.

They include the 20 kilometer New Edubiase –Brekete road and the 17 kilometer Wuruye junction-Kotwea. He said the bad state of the roads had been a major concern to the people; hence the development was welcome news.
