JUABOSO : Juaboso holds STME programme for school girls

The Juaboso District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has organised a Science Technology and Mathematics Education (STME) programmes ta Juaboso for school girls from from 30 schools in the district.

The Juaboso District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has organised a Science Technology and Mathematics Education (STME) programmes ta Juaboso for school girls from from 30 schools in the district.

The programme was aimed at encouraging girls in the district to develop interest in learning science and mathematics.

The students displayed unique materials most of which were improvised equipment made from largely local materials and for use in the construction and other industries.

Some of the items constructed, all of which were being powered by dry cell batteries, were a helicopter that could move and wireless sets which could also be tuned to radio stations.

At the ceremony, the District Director of Education, Mr J.Crosby Annan, ad advised the students not to be afraid of Mathematics and Science since they were among the subjects that could help them in future, especially in their determination to become scientists.
 
He was impressed with the performance of the students.
The Regional Director of Education, Mrs Afiba DAdzie, advised the teachers to encourage the female school children to learn Science and Mathematics so that they would be able to realise their dreams of becoming great scientists in future.
