(DABOASE) MPOHOR WASSA EAST : Regional minister meets assembly
Mr Anthony Evans Amoah,Western Regional Minister has stressed the need for collaboration between assembly members, parents, chiefs and opinion leaders to reverse the falling standards of education in the country.

Mr Anthony Evans Amoah,Western Regional Minister has stressed the need for collaboration between assembly members, parents, chiefs and opinion leaders to reverse the falling standards of education in the country.
He said although there had been sustained efforts to improve existing facilities and infrastructure to improve teaching and learning it was not having the desired impact.
Mr Amoah made the call when addressing the third ordinary meeting of the second assembly of Mpohor Wassa East District Assembly at Daboase .
He expressed concern about most of the schools that scored zero per cent in the Basic Education Certification Examination(BECE) this year adding “the situation is alarming and all stakeholders in education must sit up”.

Mr Amoah who is also Member of Parliament for the area said much of his share of the Assemblies Common Fund was spent on the provision of education infrastructure and assisting needy but

He appealed to assembly members to put aside their political affiliations and work together as a team to develop the area and cautioned chiefs and land owners against indiscriminate selling of land to deprived future generations of such important asset.
Mr Amoah said plans for the construction of a district hospital at
Daboase were far advanced.
He expressed appreciation to the electorate for retaining him as their Parliamentarian and urged them to vote massively for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo New Patriotic Party Presidential Candidate during the run-off on Sunday, December 28.

He expressed appreciation to the electorate for retaining him as their Parliamentarian and urged them to vote massively for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo New Patriotic Party Presidential Candidate during the run-off on Sunday, December 28.
Mr Edward Tawiah Amprofi, Mpohor Wassa East District Chief Executive congratulated Mr Amoah for retaining the seat.
He commended the people for their conduct that ensured peaceful, free and fair Election 2008 and was optimistic the run-off would be peaceful.
Mr Amprofi said development programmes of the assembly was on course in spite of constraints and appealed to assembly members to sensitize the people to cooperate with the assembly to realize its developmental aspirations.
He said 150 low tension poles had been supplied to 18 communities towards the completion of their electricity project.

Mr Amprofi said 20 cocoa farming communities in the district would benefit from a partnership programme with World Vision Ghana and Cadbury Schwepps to improve cocoa production.
He said by the end of October, this year, the assembly had mobilised 880,005 Ghana cedis in revenue representing 61 per cent of its budget estimates of 1,427,390 Ghana cedis.
About 471,070 Ghana cedis representing 53 per cent, was mobilised internally.
On health, Mr Amprofi said the District Health Insurance Scheme had so far registered 65,650 clients representing 55 per cent of the population.
He said by the end of October, this year, the assembly had mobilised 880,005 Ghana cedis in revenue representing 61 per cent of its budget estimates of 1,427,390 Ghana cedis.
