‘Inadequate personnel is affecting productivity’- MCE- admits
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for Ahafo Ano North Municipality in the Ashanti Region, Mrs Martina Appiah -Nyantakyi has expressed dismay in the absence of some key departments who serve as major tools in the development of the Municipality.

She cited department of urban roads as well as transport department of the municipality which is very instrumental in ensuring infrastructural development as some the major departments.
The MCE disclosed this and many others which has become a critical plight for the Municipality to accomplish its target in the area of roads.
She ceased the opportunity to appeal to the relevant authorities to take necessary steps to get the departments established at the Assembly so as to ensure rapid infrastructural development within the Municipality.
Mrs Appiah -Nyantakyi made this passionate appealed when she was delivering her sessional address at the first ordinary meeting of the third session of the eight meeting of Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly held on Thursday August 11, 2022 at the Municipal Assembly hall at Tepa, the Municipal capital.
The MCE also talked about internally generated fund (IGF), which serves as a major strength for development and as well as the day-to-day running of the Assembly.
She said a total of Two Hundred and Thirty - Nine thousand, six hundred and sixty - One cedis and fourty one pesewas (239,661.41) was realized as of June 2022. Out of the estimated revenue of Nine Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH 948,000.00) from it's local resources for year 2022.
This represents (25.28%) achievement of the total target set for the year.
According to her, in spite of the challenges being faced by the Assembly in its quest to meet its targeted revenue from it internally resources for development and was optimistic to hit the 100% by the close of the year.
On the Person with Disabilities (PWDs) Fund, the Assembly received a total amount of Eighty Thousand, and Six-Hundred and Eighty-Two Cedis and Fifty-One Pesewas (GH 80,000.00) for the 2nd and 4th quarter of 2021.
She indicated that part of the money was used procure items and paid school fees for other beneficiaries.
Touching on Education, she said government through Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly has distributed a number of mono and dual desks to various basic schools in the Municipality.
The move, was to ensure a conducive environment teaching and learning within the Municipality.
On health, the MCE lamented that, the Municipal Health Directorate continues to provide support to the health facilities in the Municipality saying, the unexpected COVID-19 brought a heavy strains on health facilities nationwide but government is poised ensure that operations of the ultra - modern Ahafo Ano North Municipal hospital to render basic and specialist care to the people of the Municipality in the year 2021.
She therefore appeals to all and sundry to take the COVID-19 vaccination and booster shorts to prevent the spread of the virus.
Under the government flagship programme, the MCE announced that, Ahafo Ano North Municipality has benefited from the One District- One Ware house initiative by the government.
She stated that, the facility has been completed and had handed over for use.
Mrs. Appiah -Nyantakyi applauded the staff of the Assembly for their impressive performance to score 95% in the just ended District Performance Assessment Tools ( DPAT ), which for her is a welcome news to the entire staff.
