She pointed out that stigmatization in the society was limiting PWDs from getting employment opportunities in some government and private sectors.

The MCE stressed that unnecessary stigmatization was hampering Person With Disabilities (PWDs) from exploring their God given potentials in the society.

Mrs. Appiah-Nyantakyi made the appeal in Tepa when she handed over Seventy Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty Eight Ghana Cedis (76,668.00) worth items to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) within the Ahafo Ano North Municipality.

The items included wheel chairs, fridges, industrial sewing machines, poly tanks, ovens among others to 51 beneficiaries.

The items according to the MCE were part of the government's initiative to eradicate poverty and also to equip the PWDs to get a better standard of living.

She cautioned the beneficiaries from selling the items, since it will defy the objective of the policy.

She promised the government's commitment for continue support to lessen their economic woes in order to become self-dependents in the society.

Mr. Jerry Quofi Haggan, the Municipal Social Welfare Director for Ahafo Ano North Municipal pledged to ensure regular monitoring to make sure that the items are being used for the intended purposes.

Mr. Collins Boakye, the President of the Person With Disabilities (PWDs) Association in Ahafo Ano North Municipality, on behalf of the Association thanked the MCE as well as the NPP government for the support.

He assured the Assembly for regular maintenance of the items to last longer.
