ASOKORE M: GIFEC commissions training for 40 artisans

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC) has commissioned a training programme for forty (40) artisans in the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly.

The training is to equip them with computer knowledge and how best they can use ICT to enhance their businesses.

In all twenty set of computers where provided for the training which will enable them to train in two batches.

They will be trained in the use of microsoft word, excel, spreadsheet and the use of the internet. The Administrator of GIFEC Mr. Kobby Acheampong said artisans contribute a significant role in boosting the country's economy hence the need to give them this training to help them enhance their job.

He also said the training will help them take records of their activities without the need to employ extra hands. He was however hopeful that they will take the training serious.

The MP for the area Hon Mubarak Muntaka Muhammed lauded GIFEC for impacting positively in the lives of students and other institutions through ICT training.

He said technology has taken over the world hence the need for everybody to be abreast with ICT learning. He also appealed to GIFEC to come to the aid of the assembly by supplying the newly created Aboabo Library Complex with computers to promote ICT learning among the youth in the municipality.

The MCE, Alhaji Nurudeen Hamidan on his part thanked GIFEC for selecting his municipality as a beneficiary to this course. He promised that he will ensure the computers are put in good shape always. Present at the programme where traditional rulers, participants of the training, assembly members and the staff of the municipal assembly.
