BINDURI: Assembly to support needy but brilliant students

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Binduri in the Upper East region, Mr Ayinga Abagre Yakubu, has said that the assembly will not relent on its support for needy but brilliant students in the district.

According to him, the assembly is collaborating with all stakeholders to uncompromisingly advance the vision of improving educational infrastructure and also offer assistance to needy students who are currently pursuing their studies at various levels of education.

 

The DCE, who disclosed this at the assembly’s first ordinary meeting, was optimistic that the support will enable beneficiary students pursue various academic and professional courses and return to the district to strengthen its human resources base.

 

He alleged that funds have already been allocated from the assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common fund to support these students acquire the needed knowledge, skills to become better persons in future.

 

He said the Assembly was seriously liaising with the District Education Directorate to compile names of other prospective beneficiaries, in order for them to have a fair share of the cake.
