Tullow Ghana applauded for social investment initiatives

The Paramount Chief for Lower Axim, Awulae Attibrukusu III has hailed Tullow Ghana Limited’s (TGL) numerous social investment initiatives, particularly in the area of education across the region.

According to the Chief, such programs have seen the construction of a dormitory project at Axim girls, re-tooling of the laboratories of Western Region schools such as Archbishop Porter Girls, Nkroful Senior High School, Assembly Hall for Half Assini SHS and Takoradi Technical University.

The commendation came at the first session of stakeholders’ engagement with the Chiefs and peoples in the Western Region.

Speaking at the session on Friday, Awulae Attibrukusu III acknowledged the company for numerous interventions and also encouraged them to do more to help improve the lives of the vulnerable in the society.

 

 

He further appealed to the company to work on a scheme that will help support final year senior high school students in the Jubilee and TEN areas of influence to have adequate preparation for their final exams so that their chances of tertiary education will be guaranteed.

 

 

Tullow Ghana Limited, as part of its efforts to help improve the study of applied science in the country, has rolled out a three-year Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics program from basic, to secondary and tertiary institutions not only in the Western Region but also targeting other similar institutions such as KNUST, Ashesi University, the Africa Science Academy and University of Mines and Technology - Tarkwa.

 

Management of TGL is also expected to meet the chiefs of Sekondi, Shama, Ahanta, Upper Dixcove, Lower Dixcove and Essikado traditional areas this week.
