Amansie West DCE visits schools to mark My First Day in School

This year’s “My first day at school” in the Amansie West District was held in three communities, Manso Apenapon, Manso Adubia and Manso Tontonkrom.

More than 250 school children were given school uniforms, exercise books, school canvas biscuits and toffee, among others.

 

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang and the Ashanti Regional Director of education Mrs Mary Owusu Achiaw accompanied the District Chief Executive, Mr William Bediako Asante and the District Director of Education, Mrs Dora Atigbire to visit six schools in the three communities in the district.  

 

The visit was to encourage primary one pupil to attended schools and stay there and learn.

 

Speaking at various schools, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang said their visit was to spread the good message from the President Nana Akuffo Addo to pupils now attending primary one to take their studies seriously to become responsible future leaders for the country.

 

Mrs Elizabeth Agyemang commended all teachers working in Amansie West for their commitment and devotion to duty in spite of challenges which include poor road network and urged them to continue to sacrifice for the country.

 

She said this message of poor road network would be communicated to the president Nana Akuffo Addo to come to their aid for the easy movement of goods and services.

 

The Regional Director of Education, Mrs Mary Owusu Achiaw on her part, said the free SHS policy has is on now, and advised JHS students to study hard to enjoy the policy.

 

The District Chief Executive, Mr William Bediako Asante in his remarks said the major problems facing the district is poor road network and rampant armed robbery cases in some parts of the district and appealed to the president to come to their aid.
