Amansie west DCE calls for support for Education Endowment fund

The Amansie West District Chief Executive, Mr William Bediako Asante has appealed to citizens from Amansie West district staying home and abroad, NGOs, Mining companies and philanthropists to come and support the Amansie West Education Endowment fund to give help to all brilliant but needy junior high school leavers to pursue their education to the highest level.

He reminded residents of the need to collectively work towards improving the educational standards of the younger ones in order to create a better future for them.

 

The DCE made the call when he inaugurated 11- member committee, with the principal mandate to develop a framework and guiding principles for the establishment and implementation of an education endowment fund for Amansie West district.

 

Dr Kofi Afoakwah, Dr Kofi Afoakwa Chairman of the committee assured of their readiness to deliver to satisfaction adding that with their manadates well spelt out all. They will not disappoint.

 

According to him, aside the core mandate, the committee is also charged with the additional responsibility to advise the district on matters relating to the development of education.

 

Dr. Afoakwah said the committee, in accordance with its mandate, started its work in earnest immediately after it was inaugurated on Friday June 30, 2017.

 

Other members of the committee include; Mr Akwasi Antwi Prempeh - Secretary, Dr Baffour-University of Education,  Kumasi Campus, Mr George Obeng Takyi-University of Education, Kumasi Campus, Mr Michael Ampong - Business and PR Consultant, Kumasi, Mr Kofi Owusu Dodoo- Former Director, Catholic Edu Unit, Nana Tabi Gyansah Chief of Manso Kwabenaso, Mrs Dora Atigbire Education Director Amansie west district, Mr Charles Atta Mensah, District Coordinating Director,  Mr John Kwasi Asokwah District Finance Officer,  And Ms Harriet Asante Mensah NHIA Amansie west.

 

 

The chiefs from Manso Nkwanta Traditional council and Wirempe Traditional Council, Nana Akrasi Frimpong and Nana Kwantwi Ampomah pledged their support to this laudable project and commended the Amansie West District Chief Executive Mr William Bediako Asante for his leadership and vision which brought together the eminent personalities for this committee.

 

The committee is also grateful to the head and staff of Amansie West District Education endowment fund committee report.

 

The district coordinating Director Mr. T. Ababio was grateful to the committee members for good work done and appealed to all good people of Amansie West to respond to this laudable project for the betterment of their future leaders.
