The meeting reviewed the Assembly’s 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) and considered recommendations from the Executive Committee on pressing development challenges across the district.

Among the concerns raised were poor road conditions along the Batangyili–Nanton–Kurugu stretch, damaged culverts, inadequate school furniture and storm-damaged classrooms requiring renovation or new roofing.

The Assembly also highlighted the need for a CHPS compound at Tampion Gumani, rehabilitation of the Nanton market, relocation of the animal market and the provision of a borehole at Kpanya. Improved sanitation facilities in schools were also proposed.

To strengthen revenue mobilisation, members discussed renovating the Nanton butcher house and constructing a new facility at Tampion. They also called for stronger oversight of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP), including the formation of a dedicated sub-committee.

Additional recommendations included improved infrastructure for the District Ambulance Service and a policy requiring furniture to be included in education and health infrastructure projects.

The proposed interventions outline the Assembly’s development priorities for the coming years, with implementation expected to determine how effectively the identified needs are addressed.
