Akwadum Community observes National Sanitation Exercise

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.Samuel Adongo said keeping the environment clean leads to good health as most diseases and infections are related to poor hygienic conditions. He mentioned malaria, typhoid, cholera and many other infections as some of the results associated with poor hygiene.
The MCE commended the people within the municipality, traditional and religious leaders for their support since the initiative was launched by the President, John Dramani Mahama.
He however stressed that those who flout sanitation by-laws and become perpetrators of the law will be dealt with in next year.
He stated that sanitation issue must be of concern to all citizens to reduce the risk of disease outbreak.
The sanitation exercise was attended by the Assembly Staff and some residents of Akwadum.
