Kakpagyili gets water improvement project worth GH¢196,276.50

Regular water crisis faced by residents of Kakpagyili electoral area will be over by December ending as an assembly member for the area, Alhassan A Mohammed has won a water improvement project contract worth Hundred and Ninety-six thousand two hundred and seventy-six Ghana cedis and fifty pesewas Gh¢196,276.50.

The contract which is being awarded by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is to solve the continual water problem residents in the area face.

Speaking to Northernnewsgh ahead of the start of work on-site by the constructor, Mr. Alhassan A Mohammed indicated that, the contract was awarded in response to a request he made to the management of the GWCL somewhere in August this year.

He explained that his people usually share the surface water they depend on animals, a situation which put the area in need of an improved water source.

He said aside from sharing the water with the animals, residents also track hundreds of miles before getting access to water.

He expressed hope that this project when completed will ease the suffering of his people so that health and education will also get improved.

The project which is fully matured and awaits a start in two weeks’ time is expected to complete in 14 days (two weeks) to make access to reduce suffering people in the area go through before accessing water.
