He stressed that it would be suicidal for the government to undertake projects in communities that do not enjoy peace.

Mr. Appiah-Kumi said this at a sod-cutting ceremony to mark the commencement of a six-unit classroom block for the Muncipal Assembly Primary School at Kokobeng.

The project, which includes an office and a store, sanitary facility and an Information and Communications Centre (ICT) estimated at GHs312, 000 is to be executed by M.S. Wabenzy Company Limited which is pre-financing the project.

The six-unit classroom block which was housing the pupils and serving the three communities collapsed in April this year as a result of a windstorm that ravaged the town.

Speaking with ghanadistricts.com, the MCE stated that, due to the urgent need of the project, he entreated M.S. Wabenzy to pre-finance the project because the assembly did not have enough funds to pay for the project.

He urged the people to provide the needed support that could help the contractor to complete the project on time.

While commending the people for their cooperation, he advised them to maintain the facility when completed to enable it to last long.
