Speaking at the mid- year performance review meeting held at Kotoso in the Kwahu East District, she mentioned vehicles, staff accommodation and inadequate staff especially midwives as their major challenges that hindered quality healthcare delivery in the area.

In spite of all the difficulties, she said the directorate was able to distribute insecticide nets to community members, organised free health screening for Senior High Schools in the district, introduced Maternal Child Health (MCH) Promoters and activated polio vaccines among others.

All the interventions, Ms Afful explained saw a massive success since her outfit was able to reach their expected targetand hinted that the directorate since the beginning of the year had not received reimbursement of funds from the National Health Insurance Authorities (NHIA) was affecting them.

Ms Afful said the directorate had plans of creating more adolescents corners and clubs and to engage the youth in activities to help reduce adolescent pregnancy in the district and therefore pleaded with the Kwahu East District Assembly to help re- roof a bungalow at Kwahu Pepase health centre which was ripped-up in April this year during a heavy storm.
