The residents, in an interview with Kwaching Agwaazeh, complained about the lack of basic facilities such as potable water, toilet facilities, road, drains and electricity among others.

They have expressed concern about the total neglect of the provision of social amenities for the people in the area.

The residents accused the government and the district assembly for not helping them in their community.

The residents therefore called for an immediate intervention from the government, philanthropists and other stakeholders to come to their aid.

Wurunia Electoral Area is the only Electoral Area in the Kassena Nankana West District Assembly, without either a school or a CHPs Centre. The community is currently putting up a brick’s structure which is led by the assembly member of the area, Vincent Abongpaare Alhassan to accommodate the community nurse posted to the community but rains have set in.

The Assemby member of the area, Hon Vincent Abongpaare Alhassan lamented that his electorates have been voting for NDC and NPP since 1992 but all the political parties that came into Power neglected them.

He added that the failure to come to the aid of the community by the government they would advise themselves “the community will have no other choice but to boycott any voting in the community”.
