He said the Presidential and Parliamentary elections would present a significant opportunity for the people to shape the future of the area and so must vote to express their beliefs and priorities.

Dr Normanyo in an interview with Ghana News Agency, said the people’s votes were more than just a right but powerful means of “expressing our beliefs and priorities” stressing, every vote represented a step toward addressing critical issues such as healthcare, education, and job creation that deeply affected lives of Dzita citizens.  

He said Dzita as a Traditional Area faced serious challenges, including healthcare, with many residents traveling long distances to receive care at facilities like the Anloga Clinic and Keta Municipal Hospital, which could be costly.  

Also, he said education was another vital area that required their attention noting, while recent self-help renovations at Dzita Basic School showed progress, schools in the Traditional Area still lacked essential facilities.  

Dr Normanyo decried youth unemployment as being a significant challenge in the area, which has its primary economic activities, artisanal fishing, and vegetable farming, being threatened due to declining fish catches and reduced crop yields caused by climate change, thus, pushing many families into poverty.  

“We have the chance to elect a President and a Parliamentarian who are committed to developing alternative livelihoods and entrepreneurship initiatives that can create sustainable job opportunities for our residents.

The election on December 7 represents a crucial platform for our community to hold our leaders accountable. High voter turnout is essential, and we encourage voters, especially those living outside the Traditional Area, to return home and cast their votes.”

The Assembly member who is also the Volta Regional Executive Secretary, National Peace Council assured of his office providing free transportation on Friday and Saturday for about 126 voters from Dzita-Anyanui Zonal Area residing in Accra, Ashaiman, Ho, Sogakope, and Dabala to ensure everyone’s participation in Saturday’s elections.
