Kassena-Nankana Assembly Hands Over Modern 6-Unit Classroom Block to Boost Education at Nawognia

The Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly has officially taken over a newly completed six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Nawognia for onward handover to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the beneficiary community, marking another significant investment in educational infrastructure within the municipality.

The project comprises a modern six-unit classroom block, toilet and urinal facilities, a changing room, and school furniture, all aimed at providing pupils and teachers with a safe and conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

The handing-over ceremony brought together traditional authorities, the Assembly Member for the area, officials of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, representatives of the Ghana Education Service, and members of the Nawognia community.

The successful completion of the project reflects the Assembly's commitment to expanding access to quality education and ensuring that children across the municipality have the infrastructure needed to excel academically.

Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Faustina A. Abulu, reaffirmed the Assembly's unwavering commitment to improving educational outcomes through sustained investment in modern school infrastructure.

She noted that providing quality learning facilities remains a key priority of the Assembly's development agenda, emphasizing that education is the foundation for the municipality's socio-economic transformation.

Hon. Abulu appealed to school authorities, traditional leaders, and community members to cultivate a strong maintenance culture by protecting and preserving the facility to ensure it serves future generations.

She stressed that safeguarding public infrastructure is a shared responsibility that would maximize the long-term benefits of government investments in education.

On behalf of the beneficiary community, the Assembly Member, traditional authorities, and residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Assembly for delivering the much-needed educational facility.

They described the project as a major milestone for Nawognia, noting that the improved classrooms and supporting facilities would significantly enhance teaching and learning while creating a more conducive environment for academic excellence.

The completion of the project forms part of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly's broader efforts to strengthen the education sector through strategic investments in infrastructure, with the ultimate goal of improving learning outcomes and promoting equitable access to quality education across the municipality.
