Atebubu-Amantin MCE calls on Zongo Chiefs

The Atebubu-Amantin municipal chief executive Hon. Thomas Masud Musa Ayaaba has called on Sarki Dufailu Imoro Osman the Zongo chief of Atebubu and his elders to interact with them and seek their support and blessings.

The MCE said as the first Muslim chief executive of the municipality, he will work hard to uplift the image of the Zongo communities under his purview.

He mentioned improvement in Islamic education and the provision of scholarships for students from Zongos as key to the attainment of this objective.

Hon. Ayaaba promised to prioritize sanitation, water and roads among others and pledged to ensure the Zongos receive their fair share of development.

On his part Sarki Imoro Osman expressed his displeasure at the decision to site the proposed agriculture university at Forikrom near Techiman arguing that this should have been earmarked for Atebubu given its agrarian potentials.

He called for the creation of a separate region for districts in the eastern enclave of the existing bono east region and the division of Atebubu and Amantin into two distinct districts to accelerate development.

Whiles pledging the support of the Atebubu Zongo community to the MCE, Sarki Imoro Osman advised him to work hard in other to pave way for others from Zongo communities who may aspire to higher positions in future.

Various elders comprising tribal chiefs let the MCE in on some pertinent issues confronting the Atebubu Zongo community which include sanitation, water and roads and prayed for success in his endeavors.

Present were officials of the municipal assembly and constituency executives of the National Democratic congress.
