This strong health infrastructure positions STMA as one of the most medically equipped metropolitan areas in the country. The metropolis is home to 7 hospitals, providing comprehensive medical care, emergency services, and specialist treatment for thousands of residents. These hospitals form the backbone of the local health system, ensuring that advanced healthcare is never too far away.

Supporting these hospitals are 5 Health Centres, which play a crucial role in primary healthcare delivery and serve as referral points for surrounding communities. In addition, the metropolis hosts 23 clinics, offering outpatient services, preventive care, and routine medical attention to residents in both urban and peri-urban areas.

Maternal and child health remains a priority, with 2 maternity homes dedicated to safe deliveries, antenatal care, and postnatal support for mothers and newborns. The district’s commitment to community-level healthcare is further demonstrated by its 27 functional CHPS compounds, which bring essential health services directly to the doorsteps of residents, especially in underserved communities.

With this extensive network of facilities, Sekondi-Takoradi is steadily building a healthier, more resilient population. The metropolis continues to invest in expanding access, improving service delivery, and ensuring that quality healthcare remains within reach for all.
