According to him, flagship programmes like the planting for food and jobs, planting for export and rural development, rearing for food and jobs and the one district one factory all form part of the government’s numerous interventions to help improve standards of living.
Mr. Lord Ennu, who said this when speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said, his premise is based on the fact the government under the 1D1F policy has constructed an ultra-modern cassava processing factory at “Afaafa”, a community in the municipality.
He noted that the factory is one of the few in the country that is expected to create more jobs for the youth, adding that about 800 youth are expected to gain direct employment while 5,000 will also be enrolled onto the out grower scheme to provide raw materials for the factory.
Meanwhile, when operating at full capacity, the factory shall produce gari, ethanol and cassava dough for both the Ghanaian and international markets.
The MCE seized the opportunity to thank the government for living up to expectation by providing jobs to prevent them from engaging in all forms of deviant behaviors that could endanger their lives.
