Gushegu gets new DCE

Assembly members of the Gushegu District Assembly in the Northern Region have confirmed Mr Abdulai Seidu, a 42 year-old Teacher, as the new District Chief Executive (DCE).

Mr Seidu secured 72.2 per cent of the votes cast at the Gushegu District Assembly by 36 assembly members, representing 26 votes in his favour and 10 votes against to emerge victorious.

The confirmation votes were supervised by officials from the Regional and District Offices of the Electoral Commission.

Mr Seidu, therefore, replaces Alhaji Alhassan Fuseini, who was relieved of his post earlier this month, after serving in that position for about seven years.

Mr Seidu promised to operate an open-door administration by working with all interest groups to promote the development of the District and called for unity and cooperation from all to succeed.

Mr Abdallah Abubakari, the Northern Regional Minister, who earlier appealed to the assembly members to confirm Mr Seidu, commended them (assembly members) for choosing the path of development by confirming the nominee.
