He noted that notwithstanding our diversity, be it religion, tribe or political persuasions, fate and providence has brought them together and therefore they are bound to live with it and work together for the common good of the people.
He reminded all members including staff of the various departments that one thing they should remember is that the position they hold is to serve and it is also temporary, so therefore they should always try to leave behind a legacy.
He therefore used the opportunity to highlight some of his plans for the development of the constituency/municipality.
He bemoaned the general acute water situation in the Municipality and informed the members of the dredging of the Gushegu, Kpatinga, and Kpisinga dams. Construction of dams in Gaa and Yaabogu, are on course and the dredging of the dams in Bilsinga and Kpaligu will kick start in the coming days.

This was in a swift response to MCE’s address to the house. Similarly Hon Hassan has also responded swiftly by pledging to provide a brand new pick up vehicle to the Municipal Police Command to help them fight crimes in the Municipality.
In the area of road infrastructure, Hon Hassan Tampuli announced to the house that he has engaged both Departments of Urban Roads and Feeder roads to take a serious look at the roads in the Municipality.
In a response to an appeal made by the Paramount Chief of Gushegu, Gushe Naa Abdulai, he hinted that he’s in talks with the Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development to consider having a new market built for the Gushegu township since the existing one has become too small for the township.
In his concluding remark, he has identified the need to develop the human resource capacity of the people of Gushegu Municipality since it is the key driver of accelerated development in any democracy.
As a result, he promised to set up an education scholarship scheme to support parents whose children gain admissions to tertiary institutions but are unable to pay fees. Even before the launch of the scheme, he has so far paid school fees of not less than 60 students. He therefore urged everybody especially the Hon. Assembly Members to support the course.
