Tensui Rice Company organizes workshop for four DCEs, Agric Officers

A Sustainable Rain Fed Rice Extension Project, a component of JICA from Japan had organised a day workshop for four districts in the Sekyere Zone on modern ways of cultivating rice irrespective of the nature of the land.

The District Chief Executive for the beneficiary Assemblies, Sekyere Kumawu, Sekyere South, Sekyere Central and Ash Mampong Municipal with their respective Agriculture officers benefited from the workshop.

The event which took place at Nsuta, a community in the Sekyere Central District was also graced by some Agric Directors to strengthen the implementation of the knowledge acquired.



Speaking at the event, Mr Hiroshi Yoshimora, the Chief Advisor in the Japanese Tensui company to Ghana explained that they are to impact knowledge and offer technical advice to the selected districts and the program is to be in existence for the period of two years.



The beneficiary DCEs, Samuel Addai Agyeikum, DCE for Kumawu; Catherine Reckline, DCE of Sekyere South, and Kwadwo Banahene Badiako, DCE of Sekyere Central share their knowledge acquired after the programme.



According to them the orientation meted out was exceptional and it had really broadened their knowledge in agriculture activities particularly rice production.
