They comprised 320 mono desks and 250 dual desks.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Aasoglenang said the Government sought to prioritize education at the various levels towards improving teaching and learning activities to ensure sound education.

The Assembly, he said, would soon procure more desks for other schools.

The Assembly is committed to ensuring that the necessary support the District Education Directorate requires is given them to enable them to discharge their mandate appropriately, he said.

The government is rolling out the appropriate educational policies targeting all and sundry. There are classroom blocks under construction at Kambaa, Dank, Dumangye, Monyupelle, and Zimuopare communities.

Mr. Godfrey Dongyeru, the Acting District Director of GES, expressed gratitude to the DCE and members of the Assembly.

We very much appreciate this donation because these desks will contribute immensely to the teaching and learning process in our district, he said.

Mr. Abdul Karim, District Coordinating Director for the District, urged the GES to endeavour to maintain the desks.

Teachers and school management mostly do not pay attention to school property and sometimes there would be a little damage to a desk or window, instead of working on it immediately, it will be left to deteriorate beyond repairs and this is not in the interest of national development, he said.

The DCE in January 2019, handed over a three-unit classroom block with an office and storeroom, located at Nandomkpee, and funded by the Assembly to the GES.
