Wasa East District awards four students

Four first year Senior High School (SHS) students in the Wasa East District have been honoured for their excellent academic performance in the last Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The four made up of two girls and two boys were presented with certificates and cash ranging from GH¢400 and GH¢500 each.

The Subri Industrial Plantation limited (SIPL) Junior High School (JHS) and the Akyempim 'B' D/A JHS were also honoured for being the best performing school and the most improved schools.

SIPL JHS scored 100 per cent in the 2014/2015 academic year BECE as well as in the 2015/2016, while Akyempim B' scored 98 per cent in 2014/15 and moved to 100 per cent last year.

Ms Easter Kyei who attended SIPL JHS for her BECE had 487 raw score in the BECE and is now at Archbishop Porters Girls SHS with Felicia Acquah scoring 476 raw score is also at Archbishop Porter Girls School.

Master Gabriel Koufie Monney who also attended SIPL had 471 raw score and is currently at GSTS Senior High while Raphael Dela Ambrose who had 463 raw score is at Fijai SHS.

The awards ceremony formed part of the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Ghana's Independence in the District.

Mr Isaac Adjei Mensah Member of Parliament for the area who graced the event commended the students for their excellent academic performance and promised to sponsor them through their SHS.
