Takoradi Wood Sellers Association donates 100 dual desks to Assembly

Takoradi Wood Sellers Association has donated 100 dual desks to the Wassa East District Assembly to enhance teaching and learning in the District.

This donation was after the District Chief Executive Emmanuel Boakye, made a passionate appeal to the Association to support his dream of making sure all students in Wassa East District have decent Desks to sit on for teaching and learning.

Present at the presentation were Mr Ibrahim Jibriel (Chairman of the Association) and Alhaji Adam (Vice Chairman).

The District Chief Executive who received the furniture commended the Wood Sellers Association for the kind gesture and pledged that the district education directorate would ensure that management of the beneficiary schools comply with strict maintenance culture of the furniture.

He commended Mr Ibrahim Jibriel (Chairman of the Association) and Alhaji Adam (Vice Chairman) for their effort and continuous support to help enhance quality education in the district.

He, however, suggested to some of the teachers present to appoint pupils in their various schools as furniture prefects to assist the school management in monitoring the proper use and maintenance of the furniture.

The association also asked them to ensure that the beneficiary schools made effective use and proper maintenance of the furniture for a longer duration.
