The awardees received certificates and citations for their commitment and dedication towards the provision of quality
education to students in the district.
Mrs. Matilda Amy Quartey, Ningo-Prampram Education Director, said the awards which were the maiden one in the district covered 2014 to 2017.
Mrs. Quartey indicated that it was aimed at appreciating the teachers while serving as an encouragement to others to put in their best.
Mr. Jonathan Teye Doku, Ningo-Prampram District Chief Executive, said it was unfortunate that the Assembly since its creation was unable to reward the teachers due to financial constraints.
Mr. Doku added that his outfit, therefore, found it appropriate to collaborate with the Education Directorate to initiate the awards as part of the independence celebrations.
He assured that beneficiaries of the 2018 awards which would be held at the end of the year would not only see beneficiaries receiving certificates and citations but other presentable gifts.
He encouraged teachers to give off their best even though the education sector in the district was faced with daunting of challenges.
The DCE announced that his outfit would gradually design award schemes for all the public institutions in the district to ensure that public sector workers discharged their work professionally.
Mr Doku, therefore, urged all residents to pay their taxes, bills, and tolls to enable NIPDA to achieve its aim of providing the needed developmental projects in the area.
