Mr. Gordon Domayelle, the District Coordinating Director, who announced this at the Farmers' Day in the district, at Sorbelle, said the Assembly could not execute all its intended projects because of its poor revenue status.

He explained that the Common Fund was given to each district according to the internally generated funds realized by each of them and the

Assembly would, therefore, not relent in its efforts to improve the situation.

He said the Police had been contacted to help in enforcing the measures put in place to improve revenue collection, especially on market days and urged everyone to cooperate to make the exercise a success.

People should not see the collection of tolls and rates as a form of punishment since the money collected go into the construction of roads, markets, schools, and the provision of water and electricity, he said.

Mr. Domayelle urged everybody living in the district to be patriotic by paying rates required of them to help develop the district.

He also asked the revenue collectors to be honest by making sure that they collect the required amounts to make the Assembly meet its target.
