2,689 Candidates sit for 2025 BECE in Sunyani West
A total of 2,689 Candidates from both Private and Public Schools comprising 1,301 boys and 1,388 girls in the Sunyani West Municipality are participating in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

This was revealed when the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Kwasi Asante Boateng (ESQ) toured some of the centers to assess the conditions under which the students were taking their examinations; offer words of encouragement and to also brought them a goodwill message from the president of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Kwasi Asante Boateng urged the candidates not to panic and write the papers with confidence devoid of any form of malpractices and make the Municipality one of the best performing Municipalities in the country.
He reminded the candidates that the examination was for them to give accounts of all that they had learnt throughout their basic education levels and advised them to avoid relying on external materials during the period of the exams, noting that the consequences of being caught could be severe.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani West, Madam Millicent Amankwah Yeboah donated 2,700 mathematical sets to the candidates to aid them in their examination which was presented to the Municipal Director of Education by the MCE on behalf of the MP for distribution to the candidates.
The MCE was accompanied by officials from the Municipal Education Directorate and Staff from the Municipal Assembly.
