Fiapre to get ultra-modern ICT library complex

Obrempong Professor Kyem-Amponsah II, Paramount Chief of Fiapre Traditional Area in the Sunyani West Municipality has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of an ultra-modern library and Information and communication technologies (ICT) laboratory in the area.

On completion, the GHC20 million projects would support the research work of universities, and further provide opportunities for pupils and students to access, study and advance in ICT.

Prof. Kyem-Amponsah II, also the Vice-Chancellor of the Ghana Communications Technology University said ICT held the key to academic progress and excellence for every developing country and therefore advised students in the area to develop interest and pursue ICT as a life career.

He also advised students in the area to eschew unhealthy lifestyles and concentrate on their education by learning hard so they would grow to become responsible adults and occupy key positions in government.

Madam Justina Owusu-Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister commended the chief for his passion and for helping to push the growth and development of education in the region.

She advised students in the region to capitalize on the free Senior High School programme and pursue high academic laurels.

Mr. Bright Adzaku, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beyond Gold Construction firm executing the project assured to complete work within the 12-month period and added the facility also contained a canteen, stores and offices, discussion room, conference room and both male and female washrooms.
