It forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to improve educational outcomes in Akyease, which had been lagging behind in infrastructural development.
The DCE also applauded teachers in Akyease for their countless sacrifices in the difficult conditions they found themselves in, urging them to continue to work hard as the government took steps to address their challenges.
Mr Fiable announced that plans were far advanced for the school to be enrolled onto the school feeding programme to entice many school going children to attend school.
He challenged parents to complement the efforts of government and teachers by playing their part and ensuring their wards were enrolled in school.
Mr Lawrence Agyinsam, Member of Parliament (MP), for THLD, charged management of the school to maintain the classroom block to stand the test of time.
The MP said he would collaborate with the DCE to ensure that their road network saw significant improvement.
Mrs Lucy Jacinta Nkansah, District Director of Education, said the government was committed to providing a serene and congenial environment for school children to study in Akyease.
She advised authorities of the school to adapt a maintenance culture to prolong the lifespan of the furniture and building.
Nana Appiah-Kubi, Odikro of the town, appealed to the government to construct teachers’ bungalows to motivate teachers to accept postings and stay in the community.
In attendance were Nana Kweku Adae III, former DCE, Alhaji Suleman Yussif, Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress and some staff of THLD.
