According to him, those peddling the falsehood are people who want his down fall after years of working tirelessly to foster development in the district.

Narrating the story in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the DCE explained that the said company was rather authorized by the forestry commission to reclaim land surface damaged by years of illegal mining activities.

He therefore found it difficult to understand how he was now being cited as the brain behind galamsey activities in the forest.
He reiterated that the company was only contracted to reclaim the land thus, he knew nothing about their alleged involvement in galamsey activities.

Mr. Boateng has however, assured that he with the help of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah will ensure that the issue is properly handled and appropriate sanctions applied if it turns out to be true that the company went contrary to their operations to reclaim the land which had been destroyed through galamsey activities.

He pledged the assembly’s commitment to collaborate with the forestry commission, Jacobu police and operation vanguard to fight against that act in that forest.

He further ceased the opportunity to express his commitment and robustness in the fight against galamsey especially in the area to help the President achieve his fight against the menace.
