AMANSIE C: Assembly eager to end galamsey- DCE

Speaking in an interview with ghanadistricts.com, he explained that even though the fight is not an easy one, the Assembly is poised to join hands with President Akufo-Addo to eradicate the menace.
According to him, several offenders who were operating despite the ban on galamsey, have been arrested by the Assembly and police in the area, and are currently being arraign before courts.
”it is sometimes difficult arresting some offenders, especially natives of Amansie central but nevertheless, that will not stop us from fighting galamsey”, he added.
Mr. Boateng further lauded the operation vanguard team in the district, adding that their presence has helped clamp down activities of illegal miners in the area.
He explains that arresting illegal miners who work at night has been a huge challenge for them because of the danger and difficulty in locating them at such time.
According to him, several illegal miners have been arrested since the introduction of the operation vanguard.
The chief executive however commended Operation Vanguard and urged for more action works to help win the fight against illegal mining.
