MCE Commissioned Two-storey 6-unit classroom block at Tafsliya Islamic Basic School
The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly has handed over an ultra-modern two storey six-unit classroom block to Tafsliya Basic School at Nima in Accra.

The classroom block with ancillary facilities is to improve teaching and learning in the Municipality. It is furnished with modern facilities, such as marker boards, comfortable furniture for the kids, convenient toilet facilities as well stationeries.
At a short ceremony to officially open the facility, the MCE recounted that she had cut the sod for the construction of the project in October, 2022 and went to convey her appreciation to persons who provided the land for the project.
“Considering the important role education play in human and National development, the Assembly under my leadership decided to commit much of its resources to the development of educational infrastructure in the Municipality.”
She said. She enumerated a number of educational project the Assembly has embark upon since she assumed office in August, 2018 when the Assembly was inaugurated among which are:
(i) Rehabilitation of 1No. 3-Unit Kindergarten Block with Ancillary Facility at Islamic Training Institute (ii) Construction of 1No. 3 Storey 9-Unit Classroom Block at Flagstaff House Basic School. (iii) Rehabilitation of 1No. 2-storey 12-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary Facilities for Kanda Cluster of Schools Block 3 & 5 (iv) Rehabilitation of 6-Unit Classroom Block with office and store at Al-Waleed Basic School. (v) Rehabilitation of 1No. 2-Storey 6-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary Facilities for Nima Cluster of Schools (vi) Rehabilitation of 6-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary Facilities at 37 Military Basic School and; (vii) Distribution of Teachers’ Tables & Chairs to Schools within the Municipality.
The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Adiza Tassa expressed her delight at the completion of the project and charged the school authority to ensure a high level maintenance so that the future generation too can enjoy.
On his part, the Headmaster for Tafsliya Islamic Basic School – Malam Tamimu Ibrahim Aliyu also express his profound gratitude for the construction of the edifice and promised to care and maintain the facility for generations yet unborn.
Among those who witnessed the commissioning were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Council of Zongo Chiefs, Heads of Department, staff of the Municipal Education Directorate, pupils and the general public.
